The Philosophy of Ibne Rushd

The present work on the philosophy of Spanish Muslim philosopher Ibn Rushd (1126-1198A.D.) is an effort to highlight the work of that eminent thinker who influenced the western world for more than three hundred years. It is rightly said that he was one of the thinker who laid the foundation for European renaissance. This book deals mainly with some aspects of Ibn Rushd’s philosophy with brief reference to some medieval Muslim thinkers. A chapter ‘From Incoherence of the Philosophers to Incoherence of Incoherence’ with reference to al-Ghazali and Ibn Rushd respectfully may be useful as well as thought provoking. In spite of the progress of materialistic civilization with the blessing of science and technology, we cannot do away with metaphysics and spiritual leaning altogether.
