About Imam al-Nawawi 

Imam Muhyi ddin Abi Zakareyya Yahya ibn Sharaff al-Nawawi known simply as Imam Nawawi : a Muhaddith, Jurist (According to Shafi’i school of thought) & specialist in Lughah, completed recitation and memorisation of the Holy Qur’an at the age of 12 or 13 years.

He was Born in the village of Nawa in Southern Syria, and at the age of 18 he shifted to Damascus, where he met Mufti of ash-Shaam, Sheikh Abdurrahman Bin Ibrahim Al-Fazari and learned from him, and spent in Damiscus around ten years, learning, teaching, writing the knowledgeable books and taking the responsibilities of Darul Hadith on his shoulders. He lived in a simple manner, devoted to Allah, engaging single-mindedly in worship, study, writing and teaching various Islamic sciences.
