Fiqh-Us-Sunnah

The fiqh in general, is a product of later generations. The Companions of the Prophet did not need its emulation into a new branch of knowledge because the law giver (the Messenger of Allah-Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) was still among them, their linguistic abilities were unsurpassed and those who narrated hadith were alive. Checking of a report was therefore not much of a problem. But the Madinite society was not a fossilized society; it was an ever-expanding society, with new situations demanding exercising of one’s mind as to the application of
revelational injunctions and the Prophet’s commandments to them. In fact, one may say that the Prophet himself was the founder of fiqh.
