“INTRODUCTION

Hadrat Shaykhut Tafseer Haafizul Hadith Maulana Muhammad Abdullah Saheb Darldiwasti is from among the last of the religious, spiritual, and political leaders of the latter half of this century. Through him, not only is the light of knowledge and spirituality luminous in Pakistan, but -he is also an initiator of religio-political leadership.

Hadrat Darkhwasti daamat barakaatuhum was born in the year 1324 hijri in the month of Muharram on a Friday at the home town of his forefathers, Darkhwast. He received his primary education and training from his father. Upon completing the memorizing of the Quran at the age of 11, he oCCupied himself in studying Arabic and related sciences under Qutbul Aqtaab Hadrat Khalifah Ghulam Muhammadudeen Puri rahmatullahi alayh. At the age of 18, he completed his daurah-e-hadith (final year of the aalim course). At the time of graduation, Hadratut Deen Puri rahmdtullahi alayh handed him his graduation turban and advised him to continue in the line of teaching.

Acting upon this advice, he first established a madrasah in Darkhwast which he headed for fifteen years and thereafter, he established another madrasah at Khanpur which is existing for the last 45 years. He is not only the head of the mudrasah, but also the nucleus of all administrative and educational affairs.

He is the principal, Shaykhut Tafseer, and Shaykhul Hadith of the madrasah; and also the spiritual guide who is responsible for the spiritual reformation of the students. Apart from this, he travels extensively, both within Pakistan and abroad for the purposes of propagation and rendering political services to the Muslims.

Speaking the truth (facts) and fearlessness is a salient feature of method of propagation. Striving to raise the banner of truth is his life irrespective of whether he is on a journey or not, irrespective of whether he is ill or not. In short, under no condition are his thoughts devoid of rendering any service to the Deen.

Teaching and explaining the Quran is his most beloved oCCupation. He has been teaching the tafseer of the Quran every Sha’baan and Ramadaan to students who have qualified as ulama and to the ulama as well for the last 45 years.

His tafseer of the Quran is so effective and informative, that not only does one gain in knowledge but a sort of intoxication passes through the heart. His subject matter is such, that one perceives that he is receiving some divine guidance – he does not have any book in front of him, nor any notes. All he has is the memory which Allah has blessed him with whereby he explains the them of the rukus and surah and the connection between the verses. One perceives waves of verses and ahadith which are quoted in support of what he says. His explanation and speech exposes total devotion and love for Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi we sallam and a perfect example of one who acts aCCording to the Sunnah is seen before one’s eyes. Based on his unique capability and competency in the tafseer of the Quran, it could be said without any exaggeration that there is no religious and spiritual aalim in the entire country who possesses such knowledge of the Quran and Hadith. Together with these intellectual aCComplishments, he is also a shaykh-e-tariqat (spiritual guide). Certain aspects of what he teaches to his mureeds (followers) have been mentioned in this booklet.

We make due to Allah Ta’ala that He blesses all the people of Pakistan, especially the students and mureeds, from continuing to benefit from the intellectual and spiritual ,virtues of Hadrat Maulana Darkhwasti Saheb madda zilluhu for a long time to come. Aameen.
