“Introduction

This manuscript (Friday Khutab) is the fifth volume in a series of Khutab books that were published for the last ten years. Muslim speakers, Khateebs, religious leaders and scholars are to deliver speeches, Khutab, talks, lectures and orations on different subjects of Islam and on different oCCasions.

Muslims are ordained by Allah (swt) to congregate every Friday and to offer their weekly prayers during noon hours. The religious leaders (Imams, Khateebs) are to deliver their speeches (sermons, Khutab) to the congregating Muslims. Often speakers are being requested without any advance notice, and as such they are pressed for time to prepare their speeches. Being pressed for time and for authentic references, it becomes difficult for many to be ready, and to assume their responsibilities.

A book of this nature: Friday Khutab, has been prepared to fill a vacuum in the Muslim societies. The subjects dealt in this book are contemporary. They are directly from the Qur’an and the Hadith. The contents of these chapters are meant to educate, inform, inspire and motivate the Muslims. They deal with the purification of the souls as well.

The previous books (Book of Al-Khutab, Islamic Orations, Orations from the Pulpit, and Chronicle of Khutab), were distributed to thousands of people in the US, Canada, Britain, the Carribean, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and a few countries in Asia. The response was tremendously encouraging, not only from the religious leaders, but from all those who received them.

Due to the lack of funds, otherwise those volumes would have been reprinted as well. With great difficulty, and even with the shortage of funds, we are able to produce this fifth volume under the title of “”Friday Khutab””.

lt was given this title not only because we are to offer a different name, but because, these speeches are meant mainly to be used on Fridays in the Masajid for the congregating Muslims.

We hope and pray that Allah will aCCept this humble effort. We hope pray that the speakers, the readers and the listeners will benefit from this book too. After all, it is meant for you.
